DMC: "In October apples ripen" by Catherine Flynn

In October apples ripen,
orchards are full.
Fruit hangs
Plump, juicy macs,
with morning dew.

J. Patrick Lewis has challenged us to write a zeno this month. What's a zeno, you ask? Click HERE for details.

To join in the fun, send yours to TodaysLittleDitty (at) gmail (dot) com, or use the contact form in the sidebar to the right. All zenos will be included in the wrap-up celebration this Friday, October 31st, and one lucky participant will win a copy of Pat's gorgeous, new, "best of" collection:

  1. This zeno is so full of delicious, appley goodness, Catherine, just reading it makes my mouth water. I love the image of the trees hanging heavy and "slick/ with morning dew."

  2. I love apples, and now, Catherine, you've written such a lovely zeno to celebrate them. Yum!

  3. Satsumas (Louisiana tangerines) ripen in October, too. I feel a companion zeno coming on.

  4. Thanks, everyone! Margaret, I have at least four versions of this. It's hard to stop once you get started! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
