DMC: "First storm of autumn" by Jone Rush MacCulloch
First storm of autumn: drenching rain,
leaves tumble down.
Branches
sway.
Morning quiet,
darkness
stays.
Changing season
shortens
days.

Really love this, Jone. The zen-like quality of this poem is like a meditation.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the mood this creates, Jone (a zen-like zeno!)
ReplyDeleteReally nice poem. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to love this form. It's not just the little peek of rhyme, but the rhythm that is so soothing and right. "Changing season, shortens days."
ReplyDeleteJone, I missed this one when you posted it. Quite nice. It should go in the Finding Fall Gallery if you say yes. Do you have a pic of the storm?
