DMC: "Blanket" by Lana Wayne Koehler
BLANKET
As the snow blankets the earth in winter,
As the rain blankets the grass in spring
and makes the flowers grow,
As the sunshine blankets the sidewalk in summer
making it hard to walk barefoot,
As each leaf blankets my yard in fall
with the promise of bonfires and cider,
So am I blanketed in love.

Your gentle approach with this poem is as soft as...well, a blanket. Nicely done, Lana.
ReplyDeleteBrava!
ReplyDeleteWhat a warm, cozy poem, Lana! Thanks for sharing it, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteLovely images. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe anaphora (repetitive line) in this poem makes it smooth and soft, just like a blanket.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all. I loved Nikki's (and Michelle's) challenge to make me think differently about everyday things.
