Drip Drop
Dear Pop,
Drip drop, drip drop
The faucet will not stop.
The plumber's truck is in the shop.
Please mop.

Prisms
Dewdrops
Prisms glisten
Clinging to wildflowers
Capture morning light, emitting
Rainbows

Laura Purdie Salas has challenged us to come up with a water-themed cinquain this month. (Click HERE for details.) If you would like to be in the running for a copy of Laura's new book, WATER CAN BE..., use the contact form in the sidebar to the right to send me your splashtastic poem!
These are so different, yet equally delightful, Jan! The fact that you used rhyme and humor in the first cinquain is unique and fun, and I love the beautiful imagery in the second.
ReplyDeleteThe first made me laugh out loud. The second -- well, I love cinquains and this one is simply lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhile the first one was funny and rhythmic, my favorite was the second with the glistening of rainbows in dewdrops.
ReplyDelete"Drip Drop" shows how fun rhyming cinquains can be. And I liked "Prisms" for its strong images.
