with wonder
gaze down upon me
I wonder whether Stars and Moon

to walk among the stars and moon
imagining how it would feel
eyes raised up to the sky
I stroll each night

Post your poem on our September 2018 padlet. While some contributions will be featured as daily ditties this month, all contributions will be included in a wrap-up presentation on Friday, September 28th, and one lucky participant will win a personalized copy of her latest collection of poetry from Greenwillow Books:

  1. I love how you play with form in your poem, Cory, and also with the double meaning of "wonder." Now I'd like to read Star and Moon's poem in response!

  5. Thank you, Tabatha. The poem kind of took on a life of its own and chose this form. I gladly followed where it lead.

  8. Cory: Kudos on this lovely poem! It reminded me of a face I saw this past week, a friend of mine listening to music, eyes closed but face lifted and expectant... it spoke of hope and wonder. Your poem is the same... and what more can we ask? I look forward to the response...

    1. Thank you, Karen! And I still remember when we strolled under a starlit sky that listened discreetly to our poetic chatter.
Stars, moon, and I will rendez-vous at twilight.

  10. Thank you, Rosi. Twilight is my favorite time of the day. A kind of meditation where I feel such wonder at the ever changing beauty of the skyscape.

  13. Thank you.
When I go for my twilight walk
this evening, I will gaze at the heavens
with much gratitude, tell them about the poem they inspired,
    and then, just
    L I S T E N . . .
    all the way home

  16. This is great, Cory! I can picture it very beautifully illustrated--though the illustration is unneeded to make it beautiful!
