DMC: "New Life" by Keri Collins Lewis

Tiny head
rests on my shoulder,
hand on my neck
curled in sleep,
delicate breaths
fill me with peace.

  1. What a treat to see a poem by Keri Collins Lewis! Beautiful details and imagery. I feel like I'm there.

  2. Keri,
I have a photo of me with my 11 day old granddaughter nestling at my neck. This poem brings back such perfect memories. I think I will frame it with the picture which has always been such a favorite. Oh how I adored her from the first instant and still do. Thank you. Janet Clare F.

  3. I'm filled with peace just reading this poem, Keri! 20 years ago for my firstborn and I still remember those delicate breaths so well.

  4. Yes. This. I used to pray that I could remember these moments if ever I were incapacitated in some way...that just those moment I be given to get through. They were the best.

  5. This is such a beautiful way to capture the moment with a newborn. There is nothing like the feeling.

  6. That would make everything all right, Keri. Beautiful feelings here!
