DMC: "Puddle Wonderful" by B.J. Lee

boring brown puddles,
on bring-your-umbrella days,
transform in bright sun
into billowing-cloud skyscapes
or shimmering rainbow art

Click HERE to read this month's interview with Carol Hinz, Editorial Director of Millbrook Press and Carolrhoda Books, divisions of Lerner Publishing Group. Her challenge this month is to write a poem that finds beauty in something that is not usually considered beautiful.

Post your poems on our November 2017 padlet. While some contributions will be featured as daily ditties this month, all contributions will be included in a wrap-up celebration tomorrow, Friday, November 24th. One lucky participant will win a copy of The Sun Played Hide-and-Seek: A Personification Story by Brian P. Cleary, illustrated by Carol Crimmins, and published by Millbrook Press earlier this year.

    1. Yes! Thank you Linda! Let's open our eyes to moments of beauty!🌦🦃

  2. When I scheduled your poem, BJ, I had no idea how appropriate it would be for today. The rain is gently falling and I look forward to the rainbow art! Thanks for the blessing of your poetry, BJ. :)

  3. Thanks Michelle! Yes it is a puddly Thanksgiving! I may go out and look for some later and hope the sun comes out just for a minute! Thank you for featuring my poem! 🦃☂🌦

  4. Reflections of beauty. I used to love to jump in them and watch the ripples and waves. Ahh happiness!

  5. Puddle art and puddle fun! Happiness!

  6. There is magic all around us, if we just pay attention.
