Just Because: A Haiku Sequence

office coat closet
a heart-shaped chocolate
in each pocket

leaving a broken
flower pot for the toad
...April sun

"Hot-Cross Buns"
endured with smiles
end-of-year concert

summer swelter
the sprinkler
left on

late October
green tomato relish
at her door

butcher remembers
to save suet for them
first snow
