DMC: "Hillary's Running Again..." by Michelle Kogan

HILLARY'S RUNNING AGAIN...

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s running again...
But this time, her motherhood’s a ticket for men.
How far will she run, how fair, how long...
Will a lullaby bring her a victory song?

Kwame Alexander has challenged us to write a clerihew this month. What's a clerihew, you ask? Click HERE for details.

Send your funny four-liner to TodaysLittleDitty (at) gmail (dot) com, or use the contact form in the sidebar to the right. All contributions will be included in a wrap-up celebration this Friday, April 24th. One lucky participant will win an autographed copy of THE CROSSOVER, which received the 2015 John Newbery Medal for the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

  1. Nice job, Michelle! Someone could probably have a heyday writing clerihews about all the political shenanigans that will be taking center stage very soon. Come to think of it, that might be a vehicle for increasing voter turnout – "Clerihews for a Cause." ;)

    1. Thanks Michelle for including my clerihew! Sounds catchy… "Clerihews for a Cause."Here's a limerick to get us started…
      U.S. election's under way
      leave preconceived notions at bay,
      Let your heart sing true
      discover anew,
Buckle up for the next Heyday!

    2. Nice job, Michelle. I'd join in, but the whole political scene has lost its shine for me. Now, if I could write a poem about passing a "get-the-money-out-of-politics" amendment, then I'm there!

    3. Hi Kitty, Thanks, and I like your idea. I'm usually up to my nose in nature poetry but this clerihew focus on a celebrity got me going.
