Click HERE to read this month's interview with J. Patrick Lewis and Jane Yolen. They have challenged us to write an epitaph poem—a funny or clever verse that might appear on your chosen subject's tombstone.
Post your poem on our February 2018 padlet. While some contributions will be featured as daily ditties this month, all contributions will be included in a wrap-up celebration on Friday, February 23rd, and one lucky participant will win a copy of their morbidly humorous collection from Charlesbridge:
Your economy of words is admirable, Kat. (As is your sense of humor!)
ReplyDeletePoor dodo!
ReplyDeleteThat's HIGH-larious. Or perhaps LOW-larious.
ReplyDeleteJane Yolen
Ah, the power of a few well-chosen words! lol
ReplyDeleteOh, my, sad! It's all that's needed. I have seen the last dodo, stuffed and in the Harvard Natural History Museum. It was a moment to remember.
ReplyDeleteThat redefines sadness, Linda. But yes, a moment to remember.
DeleteOh, poor dodo–glad you remembered it though!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely surprise, Michelle! Glad you and your readers liked. :)
ReplyDeleteHee hee. This is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThis concise poem could fly with Sally's Terse Verse for Poetry Friday today! (See, I'm late to your poem.) Poor little dodo. Thanks, Kat!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing, Robyn. I'd written terse verse, without even realising. :)
