At the beginning of November, Carol Hinz challenged us to write a poem that finds beauty in something not usually considered beautiful.
It's a marvelous quest, isn't it?
Even if we carried this challenge over December and into the new year, I doubt that we would run short of poetry. So many wonderful poems graced the padlet this month! Far more than I had opportunity to feature as daily ditties. I hope you'll take your time with this collection—it may yield you some fresh perspective... and throw in a few oohs and ahhs for good measure.

ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, this sure is a rich collection, I agree too many to choose from. I loved all the images that were included with the poems. BTW I didn't happen to see my poem that I submitted on Nov. 10th so I added it again in your padlet. I attached it at the bottom and it's called DEAR DARLING CENTIPEDE. Thanks for putting this all together!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry your poem never showed up on the padlet earlier this month, Michelle! As far as I know, that's the first time that's happened. I noticed that I hadn't seen anything from you this month, but just assumed it was because you were busy. :(

ReplyDeleteSo much loveliness wrapped up in surprising packages. I was struck by how many poems addressed death and rebirth--especially in gardening terms. There is so much comfort in the cycle of life and death and life again.

ReplyDeleteWow - what a range of subjects and emotions! Great assemblage this month. I was particularly smitten with Buffy's "Old Cherry," Keri's "Sharing," Rebekah's "True Whole" and Kay's "Cane Toad Chorus" (along with Juanita's gorgeous "Oxblood Red" you featured today) - but it was wonderful reading them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection -- evokes such a broad spectrum of emotions! Congratulations to everyone who contributed! I got wrapped up in work deadlines and holiday prep this month, and didn't get much writing done. Hoping I can rise to the challenge in December!
