Wow. This is a heartbreaker...and a great reverso. I am looking forward to reading it a few more times. This form and what people do with it amazes me. Thank you both! Sniff... xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous reverso!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Matt. I love each part but especially the words at first and last, how the punctuation changed the meaning so subtly. Heart echoes, and poignant!
ReplyDeletePoetic, elegant, stinging... that pretty much sums up this poem! Fabulous job, Matt.
ReplyDeleteWow, Matt--this one packs a punch (forward and backward!)
ReplyDeleteThank you all - I appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully crafted, Matt! You really got the idea of two different points of view, which isn't easy. I really love this, especially the second, "reversed" voice. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWow, Matt, you nailed that one! Perfect in form and very poetic. Esp. love "Stinging like champagne vinegar."
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane, I'm glad you liked it!
DeleteVery well "put together" both in format and with word choices, Matt. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Matt! I love the title and that the poem follows through.
