Summer Love
It was aqua and not blue
But for all I knew it was the finest,
Most beautiful,
Two wheels in the world.
Daily I would streak through town
Boldly going up and down the streets until
The lights came on.
Silent happiness.

Just enough to take us back to that memory, Lana. Beautiful, & love the title!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. You must have been there!
DeleteA LOVELY memory.
ReplyDeleteI like the specificity of the color, the boldness of the child who can transport herself, and the happiness that doesn't need words. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, Tabatha, blue was for boys.
DeleteThat first taste of freedom is a glorious thing! Wonderful poem, Lana.
