Calef Brown has challenged us to write a poem that tells the story of two anthropomorphized objects. They can be an odd couple, close friends, mortal enemies, or meet each other for the first time. The poem can be about an adventure they have together, a conflict, a game they play, anything. Click HERE for more details and to read this month's Spotlight ON interview.
Post your poem on our October 2018 padlet by October 31st. While some contributions will be featured as daily ditties, all contributions will be included in a wrap-up presentation on Friday, November 2nd, and one lucky participant will win a signed copy of Calef Brown's latest collection of ghoulish poetry from Carolrhoda Books:
An argument extraordinaire, but also a lesson of looking clearly at the 'other' & finding goodness, too. I love the mood changing, Renee, from shouting to soft voices, to those "eight little scribbles". Home sweet home!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! That was inspired by my own little "scribbles"... :D
DeleteWell you never know, do you! I love the idea of pencils and pens having covert love affairs when the writer's back is turned. And that ending! Best happily ever after I've heard in a long time. :D
ReplyDeleteNow I have images of catching pens and pencils "in flagrante delicto" when I open the pencil case... :D
DeleteImpressive word choice! This is so well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rebekah!
DeleteThis is so funny! Love the voices, Renee.
ReplyDeleteGrazie!!
DeleteLove this! Very creative, of course, but very well-constructed. (As we would expect from Renee!)
ReplyDeleteGrazie, Matt. It was a fun one to write.
DeleteSo funny. It made me laugh out loud. Thanks for this one. I especially like "You hem and haw, then turn around and rub out what you writ!"
ReplyDeleteI don't usually say this about my own stuff, but that's my favorite line too. :D Thanks, Rosi!
DeleteFantastic start to finish!
ReplyDeleteVery clever! I adore the addition of the little scribbles. Fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Especially love "you gorgeous graphite girl."
ReplyDeleteSo perfect! I'm glad they worked things out!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant - the 'writing has been on the wall' the whole time for these two. =)
