In October apples ripen,
orchards are full.
Fruit hangs
thick.
Plump, juicy macs,
winesaps,
slick
with morning dew.
Fun to
pick!

This zeno is so full of delicious, appley goodness, Catherine, just reading it makes my mouth water. I love the image of the trees hanging heavy and "slick/ with morning dew."
ReplyDeleteI love apples, and now, Catherine, you've written such a lovely zeno to celebrate them. Yum!
ReplyDeleteSatsumas (Louisiana tangerines) ripen in October, too. I feel a companion zeno coming on.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! Margaret, I have at least four versions of this. It's hard to stop once you get started! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
