DMC: "Born to Dance" by Matt Forrest Esenwine
BORN TO DANCE
Young Colette could pirouette,
turn out, and then jeté.
Statuesque at arabesque,
she’d bend to a plié
and twirl adagio – then allegro –
landing a croisé!
I’d never seen a T-Rex
so proficient at ballet.

Click HERE to read this month's interview with Deborah Bruss and Matt Forrest Esenwine. They've challenged us to write a poem about something you would not expect a dinosaur (or another kind of animal) to do.
Leave your poem on our April 2018 padlet. While some contributions will be featured as daily ditties this month, all contributions will be included in a wrap-up celebration on Friday, April 27th, and one lucky participant will win a personalized copy of their fun new rhyming picture book from POW! Kids:
Thank you for gracing us with such a fine poetry performance, Matt! Encore! Encore!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! You managed such 'delicate' rhymes, Matt, for this dinosaur performance. I'm smiling at the image, pink tutus & all!
ReplyDeletereally fun poem Matt
ReplyDeleteHi Matt,
ReplyDeleteGreat, clever poem. I can see T. Rex balleting away, making a very scary swan in "Swan Lake"!
Thank you, everyone! I'm looking forward to reading all the poems that come in.
ReplyDeleteMatt, you've made a graceful T-Rex seem possible! I kinda (a lot) see a picture book in this!
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea! Thanks, Rebekah!
DeleteThere is so much about me you have yet to learn...
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is just about the cutest poem I've read this month, and I have read a lot of them! Thanks.
