Click HERE to read this month's interview with J. Patrick Lewis and Jane Yolen. They have challenged us to write an epitaph poem—a funny or clever verse that might appear on your chosen subject's tombstone.
Post your poem on our February 2018 padlet. While some contributions will be featured as daily ditties this month, all contributions will be included in a wrap-up celebration on Friday, February 23rd, and one lucky participant will win a copy of their morbidly humorous collection from Charlesbridge:
Such a clever ditty, Dianne!
ReplyDeletethanks, Michelle!
DeletePoor book, and poor author! Makes me want to run to my local bookstore ASAP.
ReplyDeleteimagine how I felt...the death of my debut book, so sad.
DeleteOh no! I'm so sorry. Sad, indeed.
DeleteLike so many others, I've been there, felt that.
ReplyDeleteNicely done.
So funny and sad at the same time.
ReplyDeleteA perfect reflection of many situations in life... neither expected nor deserved, yet there you have it. Good poem. Good luck next time.
ReplyDeleteSpot on...unfortunately. Great poem! =)
ReplyDeletePosting this for Jane...
ReplyDeleteI am so taken with these ditties, I decided to honor them by playing along. Please don't take the little additions awry. Or maybe taken them with a slug of rye. (Me I drink sparkling the water!)
Sigh.
Another ending verse!:
I want to read it,
wouldn't you?
But now it's gone.
P.O.O! P.O.O! P.O.O!
