Penny Parker Klostermann has challenged us to write one to four couplets following her example– things we might feed a dragon to avoid being swallowed ourselves. Click HERE for more details.
Send your couplets to TodaysLittleDitty (at) gmail (dot) com, or use the contact form in the sidebar to the right. All contributions will be included in a whopper of a cumulative poem featured at our wrap-up celebration on Friday, August 28th. One lucky participant will win a personalized copy of Penny's deliciously funny debut picture book:
Dragon is certainly eating his way through the story book kingdom this week! Poor Rapunzel... she never saw it coming.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how this goes marching along with so many clever additions.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh. I feel a little worried about Rapunzel.
ReplyDeleteRapunzel's one happy lady. In this heat, who needs all that hair? Zel's hair is now wash and wear!
ReplyDeleteHow dare he swallow golden hair!
ReplyDeleteSend that beast back to his lair!
If only it were that easy? Obviously, Dragon is not to be stopped!
Since we're on children's books, the dragon is eating:
ReplyDeletethe old woman and her shoe,
Horton who hears a who,
Tigger, Eyore and Winnie-the-Pooh
Seven dwarfs and Snow White too.
Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I could have fun doing this all day. This is a fun challenge. Penny, the poem I posted today came from your mentioning using the "I don't know why.." line from the original song about the old lady who swallowed the fly. I've got I KNOW AN OLD DRAGON WHO SWALLOWED A KNIGHT
on hold at my library, I can't wait for it to come in.
Joy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting a poem from the mentioning for "I don't know why.." I headed over to read your post and took your challenge. I'll be posting mine over at your place after submitting this comment.
Thanks for the fun couplets to satisfy my dragon. And I hope you enjoy my book when your library has it available!
